About Abhimanyu
Abhimanyu More is a multidisciplinary designer, educator and experience practitioner with over 15 years of professional experience spanning Visual Communication, UX Design, CGI, Animation, Immersive Technologies and Extended Reality (XR). His practice brings together design thinking, human-centered research, interaction design, visual storytelling and emerging technologies to create meaningful and engaging experiences. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in User Experience Design and Extended Reality at MITAOE School of Design, where he focuses on connecting design education with contemporary industry practice and emerging technologies. Prior to entering full-time academia, Abhimanyu worked extensively in the animation, visual communication, digital product and XR industries. As Lead Product Designer – XR, he has led multidisciplinary teams of designers, 3D artists and developers in developing enterprise-scale VR healthcare simulations for global organizations including WHO, UNFPA, Meta and NIPI. His work encompasses product strategy, UX research, ethnographic research, interaction design, prototyping, usability evaluation and end-to-end experience development. His professional journey also includes experience as a Creative Head, User Experience Designer, Game Artist/Animator, CGI Artist, Motiongrapher and Art Director. He has contributed to internationally distributed animation and gaming projects and has worked across branding, digital products, advertising, film, healthcare and immersive learning. Abhimanyu has a strong interest in human behavior, cognition and experiential learning. His approach to design education combines research, making, experimentation and critical reflection, encouraging students to move beyond software proficiency towards understanding users, contexts and systems. He has previously served as Visiting Industry Faculty at multiple universities, teaching and mentoring students in areas including UX Design, Immersive Media, Design Research, and Emerging Technologies. He has also conducted workshops on Virtual Reality in competency-based medical education and contributed to academic activities as an Alumnus and Board of Studies member for the Immersive Media program at MIT Institute of Design. His areas of teaching and professional interest include User Experience Design, Human–Computer Interaction, UX Research, Interaction Design, Extended Reality, VR/AR Experience Design, Immersive Learning, Tangible Computing, Design Thinking, Ethnographic Research, Prototyping, Healthcare UX and Emerging Technologies. A believer in continuous learning, Abhimanyu is passionate about bringing together design, technology and human creativity to help students explore new possibilities and develop future-ready design practices.
