About Prabhav

Prabhav is an Assistant Professor in Foundation Design at MIT AOE School of Design. His teaching and research are rooted in wayfinding, semiotics, pictogram methodology, and Devanagari typography. He holds a Master of Design in Industrial Design, with a specialization in Interaction Design, from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, where his dissertation examined pictogram effectiveness at New Delhi Railway Station using ISO 9186-1 methodology alongside a co-created design, system, and deployment framework.

Prior to academia, Prabhav spent more than four years in industry across large enterprises, startups, and design studios, including Flipkart, Toppr, UST Global (Moonraft), Dell, and Lopez Design, working across product and interaction design. He is also co-founder of NAP, a differentiation and positioning firm and content studio that continues to inform his practice with live, industry-facing problems.

His research interests sit at the intersection of design pedagogy, wayfinding systems, and cross-domain thinking, while his practice is grounded more directly in User Experience design. He actively mentors emerging designers through platforms such as Topmate and remains engaged with the broader design research and practitioner community.
