Dr. Ravindra Bachate
About Ravindra
I am an Associate Professor and Head of UX Design at MIT AOE School of Design, Pune, with a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and a specialization in UI/UX Design. My work lies at the intersection of Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), user experience design, cognitive design, and digital product innovation.
Over the past decade, I have been passionate about bridging design and engineering to create human-centered digital systems that are intuitive, meaningful, and impactful. My experience spans UX research, interaction design, SaaS product development, and academic leadership, allowing me to work across both industry and academia.
My research interests include: • Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) • Cognitive UX and attention-centered design • Interaction design for emerging technologies • Digital well-being and mindfulness technologies • AI-driven interfaces and immersive user experiences
In addition to academic research, I have contributed to SaaS product design and development, working on platforms that integrate design thinking with scalable technology solutions.
As an educator and mentor, I enjoy guiding the next generation of designers and engineers to think critically about human behavior, usability, and technological innovation. I have designed and delivered courses in UX design, design research, interaction design, usability testing, and digital product design.
I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary collaborations that combine technology, design, and human consciousness to address real-world challenges.
