Sunil Mahajan is an accomplished artist, designer, researcher, and educator with over 20+ years of multifaceted experience bridging higher education, theme design, digital design, and corporate visual communication. Holding a Master of Design (M.Des) in Visual Communication from IIT Bombay, a Diploma in Art Education (Ranked 1st in Maharashtra) from Sir J.J. School of Art, and a B.F.A. equivalent G.D. Art from Kalawishwa Mahavidyalaya, he possesses a deep foundational mastery across fine arts, design culture, user research, concept design, and design research. Over his distinguished academic career, he has served as Associate Professor and Acting Department Lead at Pearl Academy, Mumbai, as well as Lead Faculty for User Experience Design at Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune, where he developed comprehensive postgraduate curricula, led faculty development, and mentored graduating cohorts. His industrial design and consultancy footprint spans high-impact client projects for global and national brands—including Cleartrip, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Pernod Ricard, CRY, and leading luxury hotel chains like Grand Hyatt and Novotel—covering user research, appealing architecture, brand identity, spatial art installations, and packaging design. Additionally, as a Design Consultant for IIT Bombay’s MHRD-sponsored e-Kalpa project, he conducted extensive ethnographic research, creative course based on nature and manmade objects, and visual documentation of regional Indian craft traditions. An award-winning fine artist recognized by the Bombay Art Society, his current interdisciplinary research explores ancient visual language scripts, upcycling, narrative integration in virtual education, and the cultural origins of the Metaverse in India. Sunil seamlessly integrates strategic design thinking, user-centered methodologies, and artistic practices to deliver transformative educational programs and meaningful visual experiences.
