About
Chetana Thakre is an artist, educator, and design academic with over 20 years of teaching experience, dedicated to inspiring creativity, critical thinking, and innovation through art and design education. She believes in creating engaging learning experiences that empower students to explore ideas, develop problem-solving skills, and achieve their creative potential.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Govt. Chitrakala Mahavidyalay, Nagpur University and a Master of Fine Arts, Lalit kala, Nagpur university (MFA) and combines academic expertise with valuable industry experience. Before joining academia, she worked with advertising firms in Nagpur, including Srujan Kala Advertising and Akruti Advertising, where she gained hands-on experience in graphic design, advertising, print media, layout planning, and visual communication.
Alongside her teaching career, Chetana has actively pursued her artistic practice by participating in numerous art exhibitions, workshops, and competitions. She has conducted visual arts, folk art, and Mandala workshops, Camps (Manav kala sanked academy,Ujjain) contributed to creative summer camps, and participated in prestigious events such as the All India Art Exhibition at Tilak Smarak and the Pravah Art Competition. Her passion lies in bridging art, design, and education while fostering creativity, curiosity, and lifelong learning in aspiring designers and artists.
She has been awarded Merit award at anual art show at GCM, Nagpur college and, Govt. Certificate award for water colour painting, State-Level Certificate in Volleyball, reflecting her dedication to sports and teamwork. Beyond her artistic and academic pursuits, she has a keen interest in yoga, pranayama, and meditation, which contribute to her holistic approach to personal well-being and professional life.
