Overview:

Dr. Parag Shelke holds a Ph.D. in Applied Arts from MIT ADT University, Pune. He has an academic foundation rooted in the arts, with a Master’s degree from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) and a Bachelor's degree from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune.

With over two decades of academic experience in the fields of Communication Design and Graphic Design, Dr. Parag brings both industry and academic expertise to his role. Earlier in his professional journey, he worked in the animation industry as a Senior Character Designer and Storyboard Artist, honing his skills in visual storytelling and design strategy.

Dr. Parag began his academic career in 2005 as an Assistant Professor at D.Y. Patil College of Applied Arts & Crafts, Akurdi, Pune. In 2014–15, he was appointed as the In-Charge Principal of the institute, where he also taught subjects such as Campaign Planning and Illustration. In 2017, he joined MIT ADT University’s School of Fine Arts & Applied Arts as the Head of the Department for Applied Arts. Since then, he has been actively involved in developing curriculum, designing course structures, and mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate students on industry-based projects with a focus on illustration and graphic design.

A passionate educator and lifelong learner, Dr. Parag is always open to new ideas and innovations in design. He has published multiple research papers 2 international and 3 nationals during his Ph.D. He is also an active Board of Studies (BOS) member at Vishwakarma University, Pune and MIT ADT University, contributing to academic policymaking and curriculum development.
